Capt. Edward Louis Armstrong, USN (Ret) 1923-2010

Edward Louis Armstrong, USN (Ret), Capt.
Born October 1, 1923, departed on eternal patrol at the age of 86, on May 10, 2010. He was a third generation Orange Countyian and descendant of the Cook family of El Toro, CA. He enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and went on active duty as a Midshipman in July 1943, after graduating from USC. As a proud WWII submariner, he had three tours of active duty with the fleet in submarine, a submarine tender and a destroyer during World War II, the Korean War and in between. He was a Laguna Beach, California resident since 1963 and was twice elected President of the Laguna Beach Taxpayers’ Association and was Patriot of the Year in 2002.
